Argentina wins by a landslide at the Monumental Stadium once again The National Team beat Uruguay 3-0 on another night at River’s Monumental Stadium: The goal scorers were Lionel Messi, Rodrigo De Paul, and Lautaro Martinez. Julian Alvarez came onto the field in the second half.

In the first half of the match, Uruguay was better positioned on the field and gradually started to threaten Emiliano Martinez’s goal. However, Argentina’s keeper made amazing saves on two very clear shots by Luis Suarez: First, he saved a shot by the near post; then, he made a low save out of reflex, preventing the Uruguayan no. 9 from scoring a volley.

Argentina threatened Fernando Muslera’s goal and had an unbeatable chance at Giovani Lo Celso’s feet: No. 20 caught a fast ball from Rodrigo De Paul, rounded the keeper, and struck a high left-footed shot which smashed against the crossbar and bounced on the line. In the final minutes of the first half, Argentina took the lead, thanks to a cross by Lionel Messi that no one managed to clear, and widened it before the end thanks to a goal by De Paul.

In the second half, the National Team managed the rhythm well, having great moments, and Lautaro Martinez put the cherry on top by scoring a goal off a good collective play. Furthermore, Julian Alvarez had the chance to play for a few minutes.

Argentina felt the fans’ warmth and support at the Monumental Stadium once again, rounding off a great night and remaining firm in the Qualifiers, on the road to Qatar 2022. Its next match will be against Peru on Thursday as home team.
